This is a revised copy pf my statement sent via online complaint to the District Attorney of the state of California. On March 10th I purchased gas from a local gas station - USA Gas. I used my card but the transaction did not go through. I then entered the establishment and paid for my gas directly. I was sent an email from Paypal stating that I was charged $75 by the merchant as a pre-authorization. They removed the $75 then credited it eventhough the pre-authorization by its very nature dropped off my account. I was told that they would be debiting $75 from my account on March 27th. On March 27th they removed $150 from my account. I called to complain and they credited my account for the additional $75. Then on April 2nd another mysterious $75 disappeared. Paypal states that the same thing happened at this gas station again. I was not notified at any time and my balance never reflected this issue at all until the money was taken out. They will not rectify this situation. I am now financially burdened by their choice to repeatedly remove and credit $75 at random times in and out of my account. The nature of a pre-authorization charge is that it be held and then removed. Paypal will not help. I spoke with someone who is apparently a manager in their debit card department. This is especially upsetting because i run my entire business through Paypal but now can no longer trust them with my finances.
