Refund: PayPal credit or refund to credit card?

I purchased a pair of shoes from the LL Bean website using PayPal. I need to return the shoes to LL Bean, my question is will the monies show up as credit on my PayPal account for future purchases or will my credit card associated with PayPal receive the credit? Do I have an option for my credit card to receive the refund amount? Thanks
