* i met a merchant on an internet forum
* he is either going to send a paypal invoice to my email
or he might ask me to send him the money directly.
* are paypal invoices / send money for goods and services covered by paypal buyer protection?

To be eligible for PayPal Buyer Protection you must meet all of the following requirements:

- through the Send Money tab on the PayPal website, by clicking the “Purchase” tab, or by selecting the “Checkout with PayPal” button or otherwise selecting PayPal as part of a Seller’s checkout flow.

there's no mention of paypal invoices being covered by paypal buyer protection,
but it looks sending money directly to a seller is protected.
can anyone confirm this for me?
