Buyer Who Needs Help on Refund Question

I purchased (2) concert show tickets and had the money transferred from my bank account to the sellers bank account.

The Tickets were purchased on monday (9/16/13) and I have yet to receive them. Today is 9/27/13. The concert is tomorrow (9/28/13).

After the purchase and money was transferred, I stopped hearing from the seller. I have tried emailing the seller numerous times withhin this 11 day span (including letting them know I was going to contact PayPal) with not one single response from them.

After realizing this might be a scam, I went online to try and dispute the purchase but unfortuately, when purchasing the tickets, I must have clicked that I was transferring money to a family/friend..instead of purchasing goods. Now it wont let me put file a claim under this section.

This is the first time I have ever transferred and have no clue how to get reimbursed.

Has anyone else has this problem? Where do I go from here?

Unfortunately there's no buyer protection for event tickets, PayPal simply groups this under the Service category which is not covered.  Even if you chose the funds were for a Purchase, there's still no coverage.  You assume all risks.

Just some thoughts:

Don't use the Send Money feature for purchases regardless of the situation.  Always pay thru an invoice or web page so you have documentation.  As for the types of items that are not covered for Buyer Protection, if you must, at least pay using a credit card.  Your chances are better your credit card issuer may be able to help with a chargeback.

Scammers are well aware of PayPal's User Agreement and how they can use certain polices against you.  Ticket scams are common.   Also be aware of Craig's List, it a great place of scammers to pick pockets.

This news doesnt make me very happy.

So there is absolutely no way PayPal will reimburse me the money? I would have to seek legal help instead?

The whole point of using Payapl is to have "safe" transaction.
