Buying On Gumtree and using Paypal

Hi, I have read old thread on this but just want to double check what is the up to date statement.

I am someone who buys goods from all over the place to sell on but have only ever purchased locally from Gumtree and paid face to face. Am i protected buying off of Gumtree and paying via Paypal as long as the seller sends me an invoice for goods for the payment ?

If the goods do not arrive then what are the policy terms in terms of time restirctions for obtaining refunds etc ?

Thanks for your time. Wanting to check the current position to ensure I protect myself.

I should add, I am in England and have a verified UK Paypal account. I will only ever be buying from the UK also.

Thanks

You have buyer protection if you use >>

1. Send money > goods / services.

2. Pay a money request.

3. Pay an invoice.

But buyer protection is not 100% so its best you go read up on it yourself and then you can risk assess your transactions.
