Hello--
I was just granted a return on different-than-described merchandise. The return address is completely different from where the seller originally posted it from, but from what I'm reading, that doesn't matter so long as I send it to the address supplied in the email from PayPal.
Attempting to pay for postage through the PayPal site, I am seeing that the city provided of "Brookline, NY" comes up as needing to be changed to "Brooklyn, NY" as per the zip code. From a technical standpoint, allowing this change would be altering the address provided.
What do I do?
Hypothetically, what happens if this package comes back as undeliverable or gets rejected by recipient? So long as I send it to the address given by PayPal that can be tracked online, am I then covered?
Thank you for any advice.
PS: I just gave up after being on hold with PayPal and listening to muzak/general info for 1 hour. Unacceptable.

If the email and address are provided by PayPal, why is the address different? Did the seller change the address?
Is there any information on the transcation detail?
The only way to know what to do for sure is to contact PayPal for help.

Hello DPC--
The address that PayPal provided for the return says BROOKLINE, NY. There is no Brookline, NY. The zip code that was provided by PayPal, however, corresponds to BROOKLYN, NY. When the guy mailed me the item to begin with, it came from Providence, RI; I don't remember the exact address.
So now if I put BROOKLYN, as the postage payment system is telling me to do, then I am technically not using the (misspelled) (wrong) address that PayPal provided. I have been in this rodeo too long, and I sense that I am being set up for a scam by the seller here.
