Does paypal send text messages to verify whether or not a transaction is fraudulent? I set up repeating payments each month for the last 2 years but today I received the following text: Msg from PayPal: Transaction of $10.00 on August 11, 2016 has been marked as suspicious. Reply "Yes" if authorized or "No" if not authorized.

How do you know for certain the mesage was from PayPal?

What does your PayPal account show?

Personally, I would NEVER respond to such a text message.

If it's important it will be part of may real PayPal account page.

look at the email address of the sender,does it end with paypal.com?

does it have a clickable link,?Paypal will never send you an email and ask you to click on some link?

forward it to spoof@paypal.com ,it will tell you if it is from Paypal
