Swappa.com Sale

I sold an Apple Watch on Swappa.com.  Tracking information was provided, the item was delivered successfully to the US address.  Now the buyer is saying this was an unauthorized purchase on their card.  I have provided Paypal with the tracking number, the link to the USPS page with delivery confirmation and a copy of the invoice with the same tracking number on it from Swappa.  Am I covered for seller protection?  I did everything that I was supposed to through Swappa.com, shipping the item and confirming it was delivered successfully.  I obviously had no idea that the person buying the device was not the owner of the credit card used to buy the item and I'm assuming I will be out both the money and the item itself because of this.

You can't really do anthing about unauthorized card use.

If you followed all of PayPal requirements for seller protection, PayPal should reimbuse you for chargeback fees and money lost.  Click on the Legal Agreements for PayPal policies.

That's what my question was, i can't help it that hte buyer was using a card unauthorized and now I'll be bout both the cash and the item itself.  I checked this page (https://www.paypal.com/webapps/mpp/ua/useragreement-full#11) and under Basic Requirements, I feel that I've done everything:

  • You must ship the item to the shipping address on the Transaction Details Page.
    • Sent to the address address that apears in the dispute (labeled as 'Ok to Ship to'), US address
  • You must respond to PayPal's requests for documentation and other information in a timely manner.
    • Received notification of the case this morning, responded within two hours
  • The item must be a physical, tangible good that can be shipped.
    • Item is a physical item - Apple Watch with accessories
  • Your primary residence, as listed in your Account, must be in the United States.
    • I live in the US

Proof of Shipment

  • Date shipped appears on USPS tracking page under Tracking Number
  • Recipient's address - matches that on the traction detail page
  • Tracking number shows item as delivered with the exact date/time

There wasn't a button that I could see that said Appeal but I chose to resolve the dispute and it gave me the opportunity to provide tracking information, and then I explained the situation and uploaded the invoice from Swappa as well.

You can't appeal until the case is decided by PayPal.
