Hi all,
I am planning to make 2 nights reservations at Best Western Albergo San Marco in Venice, Italy for this summer through AMOMA.com and payable though my PayPal account, but I am leery to go ahead with it because I don't know anything about the company. They might turn out to be bogus and I end up with no place to stay when I get to Venice. I want know other people's experience so, if you have experience booking hotel reservations with them before, please let me know.
Thank you,
Alexander

I would only ever use a credit card for a hotel reservation; credit cards have much better protection. I would also only book with the hotel or with a service which I knew and understood their clear policies.

Thank you for your immediate response. I thought paying through PayPal offered me better protection because not only I would get protection from them but also from whatever credit card I used at the time of purchase goods or services which is associated with my PayPal account. This is how I pay for items at EBay. I pay through PayPal but then the items but are chargeable to my credit card on their file. Yes, you're right, I should only book with a hotel or with a service which I know and understand their policies clearly.

In June we booked thru Pay pal with Amona for a room in Disney Springs. When we got to the Wyndham it was filthy and we did not stay there. The manager of this hotel, Lindsey, agreed to cancel the charges we had paid thru Amoma to this hotel. She wrote that all charges should be cancelled. My party then stayed at another hotel for the two nights were were booked into this hotel.
We disputed the charges when they showed up on our Hilton Credit Card. The first month they agreed to do the research. The amount is back on our credit card. They said the company AMOMA is international and when dealing with this company you can not get your money back. Supposedly the hotel Wyndham did not get the money. Nor did Pay Pal keep the money. So what happened to the $197.58 I am disputing. Please offer any advice. I hate paying for something I did not get. I use Pay Pal as an added layer of protection. In this case it did not work.

Seems like an issue with AMOMA; you will need to contact them directly.
PayPal doesn't provide buyer protection for hotel services.
In future, make sure you use a credit card and only reputable travel service companies.
