Unauthorized activity on my account, Unauthorized payment STARBUCKS

Sunday morning Nov. 3rd 2013, Somebody used my paypal account to fraudulently reload a Starbucks gift card worth $100. I reported this immidiately to paypal, and to my bank which cancelled my debit card.

Now, I dont even like startbucks let alone load a 100 dollars on a card with them. I used my paypal account for purchases on ebay, have had this account for years and this is the first time something like this has happened. The resolution center hasn't replied back with anything new.

How did this happen in the first place. I use my account from one computer only, the sole purposed of which is purchases, hence it is kept as nice and clean as possible. I am certain that this came about by no fault of mine or my computer. How long does it take for this sort of resolution and since I am reading about it, there's quite a few people out there with missing funds gone to Starbucks cards.

Please reply if you have had such activity on your account. Paypal needs more security it seems, atleast a payment authorization email before it is authorized not after it's done and over with.

Just curious, how is your computer connected to the Internet, direct cable modem, wireless router, phone modem, etc.

Just happened to me!  I went to check my balance to see if I could purchase supplies and much to my surprise I was missing $350!!  There are 4 fraudulent charges totalling $350!  All for the "starbucks reload" thing.  The Paypal representative on the phone couldn't have been more kind or helpful so that is good.  However, seems that this Starbucks card reload scam is rampant.... all over the internet the second I Googled it.  I am stunned that this scam isn't busted!

Couldn't some one (not necessarily just Paypal) at least set some kind of alert or extra security just on all transactions pertaining to Starbucks card reloads...?!!!  Yikes.

It should be noted  I'm incredibly pleased with the swiftness in helping me when I called.

HA!  Look what I just found!!  The scammers themselves are probably the ones who "asked for this" Paypal reload in the Starbucks community.  Laughable.  http://blogs.starbucks.com/blogs/customer/archive/2010/10/29/paypal-amp-starbucks-card.aspx

I haven't used Paypal in a very long time. Someone hacked into their system and placed 3 separate charges of $102 each on my account. I reported the fraud. Paypal agreed to refund the money to my checking account. A week later there are still no refunds to my checking account. I want to remove my checking account info from my Paypal account, but am waiting for the refund first to make sure there is no issue getting the money back where it belongs. I will never be using Paypal again and will definitely recommend against anyone I know ever using it.

Sorry I forgot to update this.

I reported it to paypal and opened an investigation into these charges, the day it happened.

Went on and told my bank. They cancelled my card and gave me a new one.

Two weeks later I got a refund of 100 bux back into my paypal account, that transfered into my bank account.

The people at paypal couldn't have been any more helpful, they are friggin great, they deal with this all day I guess.
So are the ladies at my bank.

So, in any event. I got my money back. I'm happy.

Friggin turdburglaring scammers, damn you.
