Access card cloned and account cleared

HELP Horrified to find in the past 2 hours my access card has been cloned and 2 payments made via the card for 300 and 100 made to some Chinese sellers so PayPal balance cleared... Tried calling immediately and got card blocked but customer service are not working today - I've just googled and seeing a lot that says my money is gone and I won't get it back surely this can't be the case, freaking out!!

Hello, Paulyd84. Thanks for taking the time to post a message here on the PayPal Community Forum. I know how important it is to address a situation where unauthorized transactions have occurred. I will do my best to assist.

 

It's good that you were able to block the card right away. Since it's been a couple of days since you posted your message, I hope you've been able to get through to Customer Service to start an unauthorized dispute on the transactions. If not, you can also try contacting PayPal by sending a Private Message through our Facebook page or by sending a Direct Message to @AskPayPal on Twitter.

 

One thing you should know is that you're covered for unauthorized transactions. Once the transactions are reported, PayPal will investigate and issue a refund once the unauthorized activity is confirmed.
