Charge-Off from PayPal

Hey folks. So I've been using PayPal on eBay for years but only to buy stuff. Recently I decided to clear out a bunch of gear I don't use anymore and so I put it up on eBay. Now I get the funds holding thing and it makes sense. I have about $400 on hold.

All of a sudden though (ironically as I receive money) PayPal themselves (to a PayPal email) have pulled $117.22 from my balance of $0 with $400 pending and I can no longer use my account to purchase anything because I am in negative. My balance should be zero there is no activity at all to suggest I owe anyone anything. Worst of all it is in a 'Charge-Off' which in normal terms suggests I am in some sort of default. There is **bleep** all info anywhere about what it actually means so as you might imagine I'm pretty **bleep** off about it. From my perspective it's downright theft.

Anyone have any idea about what this is? I have logged a support case with Paypal btw.

TIA

@Morehertz

Do you mean one of your buyers has filed a chargeback?

If so then the details should be in the resolution centre in your paypal account.

No, that's what I thought at first but I have zero open cases. I also haven't had a transaction even close to that amount. I just have a random transaction to PayPal for $117.22. It's really annoying because when the money I've earned from the recent sales comes in, it'll be 30% reduced.

Thats weird, sorry don't think i can help you anymore.

Your best bet is to give customer services a call  >>

Click on the words "Help / Contact" at the bottom of paypals pages and use the phone option in the blue band at the top. Log in and get the code.

When you get through don't select any options just hang on till you get transfered to an agent or press 0.
