Job or something else

I have received a job offer from http://www.Meshok.ru.  This company claims to be an auction site in russia. I did actually find their site. What concerns me is that they claim they can only be paid through paypal because of money transfer limits 350.00 per month and no item will ever be that cheap. However, not all their goods look or sound that expensive. They are employing copy editors and paypal account representatives to handle their finanical transactions. They have sent correspondence to be corrected for grammer and spelling. They claim to pay 5.00 per KB 40 to 50 per per day 1,000 to 2,000 per month via paypal. Paypal account representatives make 5% percent commission and up to 4,000 a month. Requirements are to be 21, and have a paypal verified premier account. They are seeking educated individuals in the US with a good command of the english language.

I did some work for them yesterday and sent a couple of questions about some correspondence. Rather than receiving a response I got back great job and more work for today. Red Flags went up. I am concerned this is some sort of money laundering or ????

I am eargerly awaiting a response

Suggest not getting involved.  As you would be considered providing a service, there's no buyer or seller protection, why even take a risk.

I decided to try this and now I wish I hadn't.  Here is a copy of the email I recieved from them but the last name is different.

Dear rdtruck9241969,

Please see the details below.
The position of a representative in details:
The work takes less than 1 hour per day (2-3 days a week).
The process is the following:
We sell an item at auction and receive the payment from the buyer to your Paypal account.
Then we confirm the delivery of the item by tracking information and add the tracking to the Payment for confirmation.
Once the money is available, you will be able to withdraw the money from your PayPal and wire it to us.
We will give you the instructions with calculation how to wire the money to us and how much to wire. In the instructions you will see in details: your 5% commissions. paypal fees. transfer fees, and everything else necessary. We pay all expenses ourself, so you don't have to cover any of our expenses at all.
You have a fixed salary - $1100 per month. 5% fee from each deal. The fee is paid at once you accept the payment.
Activation process and start.
Requirements: Full name: Your Home address: (P.O.Box is not acceptable) Your phone number: (available any time during the day, with no voice machine) PayPal e-mail: (it should be premier) if you have personal, you should upgrade it to premium.
Important: You should have 'Premier Verified' PayPal account. And the most important is that it should be Unlimited.
The best way to lift any possible limits - contact PayPal and ask them to lift all the limits (for sending and withdrawing)
We decided to pay you for text editing earlier, the 1st payment accepted for sale will also include the payment for text editing - $175.
We wait for the required details from you, then we will give you the rules for your studying and confirmation. Then we will have a phone interview with you and you will start working immediately.
Thank you,

HELLO!Smiley Happy

I remember my father, used to always tell me, that if a deal sounded too good to be true, it probably was.

Did you receive funds from their customers, before you wired money to your new employer? Did you wait long enough to make sure that the customer did not place a "STOP PAYMENT" on the funds, they sent you. Pay pal often will hold funds as "pending clearance".

I PERSONALLY would want to make sure that the services being provided are legal.

It sounds like this company, your new employer, is piggy backing on the services of another company. It took "Pay pal" a while for it to build up reputation whereby almost all customers trusted pay pal. Did this company get permission to use pay pal for this purpose, or is that why they hire out others to do the interactions with pay pal. I would hate to see 'pay pal's reputation hindered in any way.

Did you ever receive the $1100.00 monthly wage, along with your commissions and pay back for the expenses you layed out. I remember when I had my first career type of job. It was the first time I had a job which was somewhat in line with my education. I found myself not handing in every receipt, thinking that it might help promote my position within the company. This did not happen. They just started expecting me to get more and more out of my own pocket, with promises that one day I would be reimbursed.  The other staff members also developed negative feelings towards me, when they thought I was trying to buy my way up the corporte ladder, which is exactly what I was doing.

it sounds like no one working here is hppy, but rather suspicious.  It is so hard with the economic times being the way they are, to not have hope that perhaps you finally found  paying job.

I would be tempted to call one of those companies that gives free legal advice for the first half hour or hour.  Since your time is limited, plan your questions ahead of time.  Try not to let your emotions get the best of you.  Anyone could get involved in this. Now, it is important to think back about what you learned from this, and the safest way to get out of this job, without leaving yourself exposed to any life long consequences..
