Someone used my PayPal to make $90.00 in Sony Playstation store purchases.

Let me preface by saying my son is 3 yrs old. I don't own a Playstation. I don't even know anyone that owns a Playstation. My wife doesn't play video games.

There are three transactions. The first was a failed money request for $50.00 to a Gmail account with the message "Enjoy your birthday this all I️ have". I received this notification on my phone and changed my PayPal password. Don't know why someone would request $50.00 from someone who's birthday it is.

After the password change there was another on 17NOV for -$29.99 for Sony Interactive Entertainment Network America LLC payments.

Then also on 18NOV for -$59.99 also for Sony Interactive Entertainment Network America LLC.

I also received two emails for these from PayPal stating "Sony Interactive Entertainment Network America LLC has cancelled a Billing Agreement with you.

Description:Sony PSN BA via Console"

I filed disputes with PayPal and "We've completed our review of your unauthorized activity case, and we’ve determined there was no unauthorized use." Both claims denied.

Since PayPal denied the claims I have to believe the IP used was from my home location? Did someone break into my house and hook up a PSX to make purchases? Only other thing I can think of was I was the victim of a keylogger. I scanned my home machine with ESET and it came up with nothing. I scanned my work Mac machine with Malware Bytes and all I got was The Genieo malware. Removed it. Doesn't seem to steal data though.

Where do I go from here. Contact Sony? I'll be writing a written letter to PayPal asking for information on the dispute process. Should I file a police report? Would that do any good?

I should add this was made with funds in my PayPal account. Not through my linked bank account. So I can't dispute through the bank.

Paypal doesn't seem to take account security as seriously as they claim.
