In mid 2017 I won an auction from "bestappledealscom" for a 2011 Macbook Pro 'customize' and the seller had a 4 week shipping window which he used every bit of before sending it to me.  After about 3 weeks of using it, it would lock up, not boot, and restart on its own.  I had a 90 day warranty (from the seller) and the seller said to ship it back and he would fix it.  He sent a shipping label for me.  This was the middle of July 2017.  To make a long story short; I had to plead with him every week to send it back to me; I finally received it on Feb. 8, 2018.  It was not the same laptop and it quit booting after its third power on that day.  Contacting the seller he said,  "I was afraid of that."  He sent an additional message for me to "Help him help me," by paying him the difference between a 2012 model and the NG 2011 one in my possession.  The laptop has a new 90 day warranty but after having the PC checked by a professional (video is bad) the seller will not respond to me or the repair shop.  What can I do?

From what I can tell, eBay has no category for this issue and neither does PayPal.  Do I have a case of "not getting what I purchased" or not.  This was a $600 sale for him.

You have up to 180 days to open a dispute on paypal.

After that you may have more time if you funded your paypal payment via a credit card.

180 days, well it's well beyond that so I guess I'm out $600 and the seller gets away with it.

thank you,

Ken
