Hey Kaycee101,
Great question! Instead of account numbers, PayPal uses your email address as a username, which is what people can use to pay you.
I do want to advise, however, that you should never have anyone refund you by sending you a payment in return. Anyone who receives a payment can refund it within their activity page once they log in. Refunding transactions by sending a new payment back can cause issues for buyers later, as illegitimate sellers could file cases against these payments and you wouldn't have any protection as you didn't actually sell anything. Also, if you paid with a card, the funds wouldn't refund back to the card you used to pay, they would go back to your PayPal balance instead.
I hope this information helps!
