I ordered some purse charms off a lady. Second time I ordered from her, first time went well so this time it was a much larger and more expensive shipment. Tracking shows po delivered it to my front porch (no sig required). We didn't get it. Two other packages did arrive that day so it doesn't seem like a person would steal one and leave the other two. Seller says she can't help me and it's my problem for not asking for a signature on delivery. We are disabled so purchase a lot online (saves us rrying to go out), and this has never happened before. We live on a court and at the end of it so no through traffic. Is there anything I can do? Am I just out the money? She says I should have asked for insurance and sig reqired forr delivery. I thought insurance came automatically with tracking. It is, I suppose, my fault for not asking for signature for delivery. But nothing like this has ever happened before. The seller tells me I am just out the money and nothing to do with her.

insurance is to protect the seller,as seller is responsible to deliver the goods,in your case,it is not delivered.
so file with paypal, look up the transaction and click on resolution, open a case of item not received, get Paypal to review and Paypal will ask the seller to provided an online viewable tracking showing it has been delivered by a commercial carrier.
if the payment is $750 or more, you signature is required as well.
so if the seller cannot come up with tracking number or tracking does not show it has been delivered to your address, she will lose and you will get your original payment back (item plus shipping).
read more about Paypal buyer protection and how to proceed,be sure to follow the guidelines.
if this is eBAY,you can file on EBay IN 30 DAYS,Paypal gives you 180 days.
if you lose, file with your credit card issuer if you have used a credit card, you have 180 days

if it is under $750,no signatire is required, you lose .
ask your neighbor or call the postman if he recalls .
what exactly does tracking say?

Tracking says it was delivered to the front porch which is what is so frustrating---two other packages came that day so it seems weird the postman would mark it deliverred and give it to someone else. It also seems weird to think somebody might have stolen that one and left the other two. It's been several days so I would think if one of the neighbors got it I would have heard by now, and as I said we are in the back of our court so no through traffic. I have a form open with the post office to try and find it but I am afraid I am just out the money.

I have no new information to offer, but in my country it is not allowed to any delivery company to leave parcels at porch, so it is frustrating to read this kind of stories, it is very unsecure if delivery company can just leave stuff anywhere and people can steal it. In my country delivery company will always call and agree with spesific time when I'm at home and if I'm not the parcel will be taken to nearest post office, there is no option for companies to just leave stuff in front of my door.

In US,carriers do leave package at the front door, sometimes behind a flower pot or in a corner,USPS does,UPS does ,so does Fed Exp ground,in some cases, the recipient approves so.
of course if they leave it right in front of the front door on a door mat, anyone who walks by or drive by will see it.
It is not unusual for a seller who either run out of supply or just have no supply to ship an empty envelope with tracking to a zipcode in her area,if it has to be signed for, then find a business which is open during office hours and have someone t o sign for it,it could be addressed to Mr Resident,a business like a drycleaner,Chinese restaurant or T MOBILE outlet.
Insurance with USPS would not cover the loss since tracking shows delivered, but private insurance would,
if the buyer has paid with a credit card, may be try filing a chargeback and see if she can win?

I just paid with pay pal, not a particular credit card. I guess there is nothin I can do and I'm out the money. I know there has to be a mistake with the po but doubt I can prove it. We are are at the very back of a court so no through traffic and few neighbors would see it on porch. And we get losts of stuff online. We have never lost a package from the porch before and it seems incredible to me that if someone took one they would leave the other two.
