Our rental agents suggests that we accept PaPal payment for our rental property from our prospective holiday makers.
Is that a safe way to go? I have a PayPal account that I only used for paying for stuff, I have never as yet received PayPal
payments.
Thanks

You can do that however, you may want to consider some alternatives too. For example, Square is available in CA, it's simple, your customers only need to provide their credit card info or if present, you swipe the card and you're done. The funds are deposited directly into your bank account.
With PayPal, customers can pay without having a PayPal account however, if they pay you several times using the same credit card, they will eventually have to open a PayPal Account. PayPal tracks the card usage and at some point will want them to open a PayPal Account. It's a marketing thing. Seems its also easier for people to scam you thru PayPal if you're dealing with not so honest folks. If your customers already have a PayPal account, they can simply use the send money feature to pay you or you can send them invoices. For your part, suggest upgrading to a premier or buisiness account if you currently have a personal account. You can't accept credit card payments with a personal account.
Offer your customers choices when it comes to payment methods, then you can't go wrong. Keep in mind, not everyone will want to use PayPal.
