I would like to help my running club with registration for a running race.
Everyone in the race must register, agree to a liability waiver and pay $25. To the extent that is possible, we would like to see runners sign-up and pay online, as we expect about 150 people and last minute regiatration before the race is no fun.
The running club has a wordpress website. We would like to use PayPal for payments.
Ideally, I would like to share a PayPal link on the website with some simple text like "Click here to register with PayPal". (Enter first name, last name, age group, tel, email and expected finish time on Paypal form.)
Is this possible? (Alternative is to create a form in Wordpress then refer to PayPal, but that means we would have to cross-check each Wordpress form to confirm the person paid.)
Many thanks for your help and advice!

Unfortunately the Wordpress platform is a challenge to work with when it comes to teaming up with PayPal. PayPal's item button code is basically an HTML Form. Seems you just cannot paste an HTML Form directly into Wordpress. You can use text or hyperlinks however, there's no way to incorporate text input boxes, dropdowns, etc. into a text or hyperlink.
See this info from Wordpress support: http://en.support.wordpress.com/paypal/
You may want to visit the Wordpress community to find out if there are any 3rd party plug-ins that can work with PayPal and do what you have in mind.

Hi there Snowshoe,
Thx for your response.
I am specifically hoping to use PayPal for registration. Is it possible? If so, how might I best approach?
Lots of Wordpress plugins that work with PayPal (e.g. http://premium.wpmudev.org/blog/5-wordpress-paypal-plugins/) but hoping to not have to use both WP and PayPal.
