Does PayPal put a hit on your credit score when you add a bank account?

I recently wanted to start selling on eBay, so I set up a corresponding PayPal account.  I guess I missed where you are REQUIRED to add a Bank Acct or CC.  Had I known I would have set it up.  We have had credit and identity theft a couple of times and we are very reluctant to use our CC or Debit card online.

Now 5 weeks after selling on eBay and PAYING my fees (which eBay gladly accepted) I got a message I had to set up a bank acct so eBay can take my fees out.  OK I give up, I'll add my bank acct.

OK here's my question.  We are 4 weeks from buying a house and our mortgage lender said "Don't apply for credit or do anything to make a hit on your credit score".  By adding our bank acct, is there a check or hit on our credit by PayPal?  I wouldn't think so, but I want to be sure.  I only use it to buy and sell on eBay.  My transactions were only about $300-$400 last month.

Thanks in advance.

You already have the bank account.  Nothing in you credit accounts are changing.  You are only allowing PayPal to use the account, not creating a new credit account.

Also, assuming you already have a stellar credit rating and low use of all your credit cards (meaning you're only using 10% of maximum available credit), there wouldn't likely be a problem even with a new account.  A lot depends on your current creditworthiness record.  In any case I don't think linking a bank account wold even be noticed.

Thanks very much.  Our credit is good, just trying to follow our mortgage lender's suggestion and checking before I do anything.

There are other actions which could create issues, such as starting to pay for a $10,000 holiday on an existing credit card.

Even adding a large sum of money to savings account could be an issue.

Transferring large funds between money accounts could cause notice.

There are a lot of significant financial activities which could cause concern, but not linking a bank account and not doing anything with it.

It's about laying low and keeping a low financial profile for a few months.
