We have one product. Most buyers will be required to pay sales tax. No problem. Some buyers have a tax-exempt status. How do I have them enter their Tax ID # and make the sales tax 0%?

It's possible to do what you have in mind however, the item button code you need would have to be manually scripted. There's no built in PayPal Account Profile features or functions to do this automatically for you. With the use of some custom scripting combined with the Tax override variables, it's doable.
