Activity List Date Search Limitations

Under the new activity log design, it is no longer possible input a range of dates to search, click a a specific transaction, and then return to the log with the same date critieria. You have to start the search and input the dates ALL OVER AGAIN each time! (Made even more maddening for having to use the stupid calendar. Why not allow us to just input text?)

In the old system, you could click on a specific transaction, and then shoose "Return to Log" to go back to the transactions for the specified date range. Under the new layout, you have to start all over again each time with the ridiculous calender, and input the date range. This has consumed hours of time on my part to access some historical transaction.

Plus, the "Return to Log" feature doesn't work any longer if you go to the classic view. I fail to see how this system helps the user in any way. I was perfectly happy with the old layout. Why "improve" something that was working just fine?

This method works great when you have to back in time - you get all the data.

Download or export your Transaction History

* Login to your account.
* Click "Activity"
* Under "Simple" "Detailed"
* Click on "Statements"
* Click on "Activity export"
* Select "Custom Date Range"
* Select your "From" and "To" Dates
* Under File Types for Download - Select "Comma Delimited - All Activity"
* Click "Download History"


What this process does is export your history to a CSV file, you can then use an app like Excel to sort, view, create and print your own reports.

It really should be a lot easier than that... for people that don't use paypal very often, that's a lot of work for a handfull of transactions.  The calendar really should just work better.
