Adding my spouse and their bank account

Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to add my spouse to my Paypal along with his bank account as his backup funding source?

No.  He needs his own account for his own bank account.

Do you both plan to use the same computer?

I think you can both share the same bank account as long as it is a joint account.  I think I've read where 2 accounts can be linked.

Don't rush just yet.

There are other knowledgable members on the forum who will be able to add more input.

There is one serious caution:  If one of your accounts gets limited or in trouble due to irregular activity, both accunts will be limited.  So, just don't do anything stupid with your account.  Actually, I wouln't expect you to do so as you are taking great care to get it right on first setup.

Yes we share computers. It's just that the bank we use right now is in my name only, and my Paypal acct has been in use a long time and in good standing. We were wanting to switch to using the bank in his name for online eBay transactions and the like. He will probably just have to create his own account I guess..

He would not be able to link his PayPal account to your bank account; that would cause alerts for PayPal and could have an unexpected outcome.

There could be other issues when it comes to ID requirements.  In addtion to a bank account, PayPal may ask for other documentation in name, including cell phone.

Yes, I figured as much about my bank account, I just thought maybe he could be added and we could add his bank as well if so. Too bad Paypal doesn't have joint accounts! I understand how verifications could get confusing though. He will just have to create a Paypal in his name for his own bank account.
