Can I cancel a money transfer from my bank to my paypal before it overdraws my account?

So I requested a transfer of $20 to be taken from my bank account and put in my paypal account but I forgot and emptied my account. Can I cancel this before it goes through to not get hit with the overdraft fee from my bank? Or would removing the card from the account make it so the transfer gets denied? any help would be great, asap. Thanks
