I am trying to connect my paypal to my international bank, Scotiabank located in St. Kitts and Nevis. Unfortunately, the bank doesnt have a routing number. It has a transit number but it is only 8 numbers long and when I try to connect it, paypal requires 9 numbers. Is there a way around this? Help!!

Open an account in the same country as the bank or select a bank in the country where your account is located.

open an account in the same country as the bank (if you are  in a different country) is not a good idea.

An irish lady did that, she lives in IRELAND and her local currency is Euro, she open an account in UK,with UK bank account and start collecting payment from UK buyers in British pound.

She travels to UK and has a postal address in UK and she has no problem withdrawing fund from her bank account in UK

Paypal restricted her, reason, she did not say why,but ask to  see some documenst about herself and her company and they are all from Ireland-her driver license, her passport, her voter registration.

Only American expatriates can link both local bank and US bank to their paypal accounts,Canadians can link both as well with their Canadian Paypal account.

So something to consider ,best is to find a local bank where you reside and where you register your Paypal account

The 9 digit routing number identifies an US bank, and is used in ACH,automated clearing house where banks clear payments with each other.

If your bank is a Carribean bank,it would be useless,as Paypal sends your payment to ACH and it wont find this bank.

You need to open a US bank if your PAYPAL account is a US account
