We are a nonprofit organization that has used PayPal in the past for conference registration fees. We experienced problems with registrants who use a corporate credit card (business credit card) vs. an individual credit card. The corporate credit cards were not always accepted as a form of payment. Do we need to make an adjustment in the settings of our PayPal account in order to allow the use of corporate cards as an accepted form of payment? Please advise. Thank you.

Unfortunately there's no options or features in your account profile settings for doing what you have in mind. If the corporate card has the user's name on it, it should work. Personally, I have had several corporate cards in the past and they have had both my name and the corporation name on the the card along with either the Visa or MC logo. They have always worked.

I have been having the same issue as you are describing. Many people have tried to use their corporate credit card to pay for registration to our event without any luck.
I contacted PayPal and inquired as to what could be the issue. The confirmed that it was not my account nor any PayPal settings that I had. They suggested one reason as to why my customers had been uable to pay with their corporate cards.
When PayPal receives an order, they automatically send an Authorization of $0.00 to the credit card looking to purchase. PayPal told me that many credit card companies often reject this $0.00 authorization as it is difficult to trace, which in turn rejects the corporate credit card.
One suggestion they supplied to combat this problem is for the customer to call their corporate credit card company, warn them that they will be making a purchase on PayPal and would prefer that the credit card company allow this transaction to occur.
I hope this helps.

As long as the card has the individual's name (that matches their PayPal account owner info or bill to info if paying as PayPal guest) and the company name, it should work.
Kudos & Solved are greatly appreciated. 🙂

It would help if PayPal would just fix this problem. It isn't our job to do the work for PayPal or the banks or the credit card companies. If they want our business and our customer's business, then they need to fix the system to make it work. This is unprofessional to say the least - not to mention bad for Paypal's business and ours.
Why is Paypal not answering this thread?
