Hi all,
Earlier, I got offered £50 for a guitar from some guy that is currently at sea. I willingly accepted this and he said he'll pay through paypal. He asked if he could send me some extra money for the shipping etc. and I said yea but I'd want more information. Before he replied he already sent through £1000!!!!! 800 and something for shipping and £50 for the guitar.
I was like what ? And paypal contacted me saying thee holding all the money until I have sent the money for the postage to his agent. I was totally confused by this and contacted the guy asking if we can just cancel the payment. He said no because he couldn't get the money back from paypal. I have no idea whats going on so i contacted paypal and said I never actually stated he could send that amount of money through as I wanted more information first.
They then replied saying I had to send £800 odd pounds of my own money to his agent to pay for delivery before they could forward me the funds. I had no idea I'd have to send his agent any of my own money !!!!! So I just contacted them saying there is no way I can go through with this. And that I never actually gave him permission to send me the money in the first place.
They have now banned my account for 24hours. I'll be honest im only 18 and I'll admit im kind of scared to whats going to happen.
Can provide full addresses.
They were using some very threatenign tactics against me and I'm still kind of worried however since I told them I contacted the real paypal I haven't hear anything since. Can someone from paypal email me about this please?

Hi Scipio_sniper
This is a public forum. PayPal guyes would not get into details of your situation. Do not expect any email coming from forum.
You have to contact PayPal by phone and talk to a live Agent - they must help you out.
Please keep us posted about the further development (if you don't mind).
Take care

You got lucky! My friend just got scammed this same way. It was from some joker who wanted to "purchase" her camera. She agreed on an amount and she got the same message from paypal.paymentlife at yahoo . com saying that the $700 had been sent but was being held until she sent proof of the shipping details. Look at the email address.... No paypal correspondence is going to come from a YAHOO account. This is from some jerk who is simply sending emails and saying that he's got a payment for you and will release it once you've sent the item. Unluckily for my friend, she sent the item and low and behold, the guy then tells her that he needs her to send him money. That's when she realized that it was a scam. The cops will do nothing about this and short of making a small claims court case, there is nothing she can do either.
I hope her story helps stop these jerks from ripping people off! Do not believe anything that tells you that you have a payment waiting. If you have questions, contact Paypal directly.
I'll post this guys name, shipping address and phone number that he gave my friend shortly so he doesn't **bleep** anyone else over.
