Fraud/Spam emails about an item i am selling on "viva street" (leicester mercury)

I recieved this email for selling a Dresser/wall unit on "Viva street".....which is through the leicester mercury

Your asking price is quite reasonable and affordable considering others I've seen lately, I'll take it. I would've love to come check it out my self bt I work for RAF. I'm currently in camp as Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Extract(SERE) instructor for new recruits.I'll arrange for pick up and delivery.I'll make the payment through PayPal for the safety of both of us. I'll need your name, the pickup address & your paypal email address for the payment. If you don't have paypal account It's very easy and secured just visit www.paypal.com and click on signup.

There's a problem, but I believe we can take care of it. I was just about to make the payment when I had little problem with the picking up,The picker said he'll not come for the pick up unless I pay the pick up & delivery fees first in order to be able to schedule suitable pick up date. The only form of payment he accepts is Western Union Money Transfer. I've also tried to send the payment online through the Western Union website but they declined my card & keep telling me to visit the nearest Western Union location to send the money which I don't have access to presently due to my work. 

I'll include the £85 he charged for pick up and delivery to the payments i'll send to you through paypal. so you will help me send it to the picker via Western Union Money Transfer as soon as you receive the payment from paypal.I'll include £20 for the Western Union money transfer charges to send the pick up money to the picker. I'll be glad if you could be so kind to help me send the shipping cost to the shipping agent. I will let you know as soon as I have make the payment

Common scam.

Ignore them.

If you have sent them your email address then you should be ok. You haven't given them your password etc  >> just make  sure you have a strong password.

Just had exactly the same email communication from something I'm selling on gumtree from this Rose Spencer. All seemed legit until she started saying about western union money transfers then I started to smell a rat. She does have my home address, PayPal email address and my phone number so I'm not sure how safe my account is? Just contacted PayPal customer services. This is her last message as follows... I have also been targeted by the same with exact same wording using Viva Street. The latest email is more aggressive and threatening still I have copied it here: > Hi, > > I wondered why I have not heard from you regarding the pick up cost. I will like you to update me if you have sent the pick up cost to the shipping agent and schedule pick up date and time? and if you have not I need to understand what is still delaying you or legal action will be taken against you.
