Here is a question I received about spoof emails and I thought the answer might be useful here.
I received an email from info@paypal.co.uk
The email stated that they had had a raffle in June a drawing with an award of cash money to be paid to those people whose names were drawn. does anyone at PayPal have any knowledge about this type of activity actually taking place at the company at all. Is there a department that investigates these or confirms them one way or another.

Hey there, we do have a department here that can review any email you are unsure of. All you need to do is forward it to spoof@paypal.com. Leave the subject as it is and once reviewed you will be notified as to whether the email is genuine or not.
In regard to the email you have received. There was a draw done by PayPal where several customers won £10,000 and it was credited to their PayPal account balance.
If you are unsure though as I said forward it on to us here and we can review it.
Just an FYI about emails that you may receive. PayPal will always address an email to the full name provided on your account. We will never address an email to a customer with Dear PayPal member or Dear Customer etc. We will also never use your eBay ID or your email address to address you.
I hope this helps.
