I want to send US currency to help a friend in Venezuela cope with their hyper-inflation. Just a few dollars to me means several hundred thousand bolivars to him. BUT: The government is very intrusive there when foreign currency is involved; the Venezuelan bolivar is like comfort tissue, so all the natives are hungry for US currency; and the recipient I am trying to help is under managed care and has slight dementia. If I can solve the medical-contact-computer issues, how afraid should I be that the government will intercept my attempt at aid?
