Adding funds to PayPal via Green Dot Mastercard

Hi all:

Brand new to the forum. I have money in my Green Dot Mastercard account, but I see no provision for adding funds to PayPal with the Mastercard; they will only take a Green Dot card number. Why is this and/or am I missing something? Thanks. Fritz

Hi Fritz,

You cannot add funds to your PayPal account from a credit card.

To add funds from your GreenDot  MoneyPak  card, login to your PayPal account, click on the "Add Funds" tab, click on the "MoneyPak" option and follow instructions from there. More information is available at the following link...

I just found out it was not an option AFTER I purchased a Green Dot MC which was on a display saying i would be able to add funds to my Paypal account and shop on Ebay.  The ONLY reason I purchased it was to add funds to my account faster.  Now I have to try to figure out a way to get my money back.

You need a friend with a PayPal account. Add the card to their account and send the money to yourself. 

There are likely to be fees associated with the transaction.

You can do this even after the temporary card expires.
