Transaction declined due to AVS mismatch but Paypal still says completed?

I ordered something online using my Paypal debit card (as I have many times before) but it was declined due to 'AVS' mismatch which I believe has something to do with the addresses not matching. Ok, that's fine. BUT Paypal is showing the transaction as completed and the money is gone even though it was declined by the merchant.  It's $88 which is a pretty significant amount.  I keep thinking that it will show back up in my account but so far it's not.  I contacted the merchant and they said it was declined and they don't have it. I contacted Paypal and they haven't given me an answer via email yet.  I need to transfer the money to my bank account and re-order what I was ordering because it's a business account and for a customer. 

 

Will the money (which shouldn't have left in the first place) go back into my account?   Any advice/experiences with this would be greatly appreciated.
