Hello! I'm going to sell some things from my closet. I need to link my bank account. I don't understand which Routing Number I need to put in. I have 3 routing numbers: 1. Paper (to order checks) [as stated on bank site] 2. Electronic [To set up direct deposits and outgoing payments to financial institutes] 3. Wires [For all incoming wire transfers] Please, which one I need to put in? Thank You.

PS I don't have checks so that's why I'm asking this question.

Welcome to the boards!

That's an interesting mix!  I can rule out the wire transfer routing number immediately, as we use a different type of transfer process - an ACH transfer.

That leaves us with two routing numbers, your Paper and Electronic.  Sometimes, direct deposit and bill pay routing numbers are different than what is used for ACH transfers, but sometimes, they aren't.  Smiley Sad

I would recommend contacting your bank to be certain.  Ask them what routing number to user for an "external ACH transfer," and specify that it's not for direct deposit or bill pay.  One of their representatives would be best to guide you through their internal policies and select the proper routing number to use.  If the agent is unclear, ask to speak with their Processing Department.

Thanks!
