Can i link a saving account to paypal please

I have been trying to link my paypal acc to a santander savings account without success. Paypal call centre say it is possible and Santander say its possible but i cant manage it. I have a sort code, an account number,  reference number all of which santander say is required. Paypal only have provision for sort code and account number. When i do this and transfer money, my paypal account is debited by transfer amount, i wait 3 working days until it is sent back from santander. During the 3 days i phone santander and paypal who both say 'yep no problem, its all ok'

ANY advice at all would be fantastic because i am so flipped off with it.

Hi there Greenaudi,

It is possible for a customer to register a savings account to their PayPal account but a lot of the time, it isn't possible to confirm the savings account as they can't receive electronic direct debits. This should provide you the ability to be able to withdraw funds from your PayPal account to your bank account.

If you have tried to withdraw funds and they did not complete or failed, were there any disputes or failed payments on your PayPal account since you initiated the withdrawal? This happens from time to time and it could result in the withdrawal being cancelled to your bank account.

If the withdrawal hasn't completed, you should try contacting customer services in PayPal and we can tell you exactly what has happened. We will be able to see why the withdrawal did not complete and we will be able to tell you what you can do in order to have the issue resolved.

I am about to do the same thing. I want to transfer funds over to my Lloyds TSB savings account and know they do electronic transfer as I have regular money going into it from my standard account. Will I be met with the same issues?
