Can't change address that has been verified

I have moved recently and my old address has been verified and my credit cards are linked to that address. I have changed the address of them with the bank, but when I try to update to my address on paypal it just adds a new one, not linking to the credit cards. I can't delet the old address as it is still linked to the credit cards. Its infuriating me!

Also, I have the ebay app on my iphone, and when I try to pay using paypal, it brings up all my old addresses, even ythose I have deleted, not the new one. Any ideas?

Hey sallytrim,

To change the address on your cards you can go to the ‘my Money’ section of your Profile and click ‘update’ next to the cards. You can then edit the card information and change the billing address. If this still fails you may need to just remove the card and then re-add it with the new billing address.

In relation to the eBay app, it sometimes remembers older address. Make sure they are all deleted from your eBay gift addresses list. If they still appear you can contact us directly and we’ll remove the older addresses.

I'm having trouble with this too. It seems my credit card will only verify to the old address. It won;t authorise with the new address, even though the bank has updated the address for the credit card some time ago.

Hi ruchirlives, 

I would recomend that you update the address on your registered card. Once you have updated the card address it will allow you to use your new address. 

Here’s how to change your billing address:

1. Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click 'My money'
4. Click 'Update' beside 'Debit and credit cards.'
5. Click 'Edit' next to the card you would like to edit.
6. You can choose a billing address that is already registered on your account or you can enter a new one.
7. Enter your information, then click 'Save.'

Note: If you need to update your debit card's start date or issue number, you must remove the card and then add it again with the updated information

Hello, the same problem occured to me after i noticed that when i add money to my bank account they do not appear in paypal. Previously i did not have such problem - paypal showed the money properly and i sent and recieved money without any problem. But when i added money on December 2012 they were not showing on the site. And ever since then the money i add to my linked bank account  do not appear as present. I checked the adresses and saw that the credit card is linked to an adress in which i do not live anymore. And when i tried to update the adress using the information in this topic a sign shows and says: 

This credit card has been denied by the bank that issued your credit card. For details on why your card was denied, please contact your credit card issuer's customer service department. Or, you may want to try adding a different credit card.

My question is: Is my problem related to the change in adresses and how do i fix it? And if it is not, what is the problem?

Hi denitzatrandeva, 

Welcome to the PayPal community forum. 

When you are editing your address you must ensure that your address is also update on your credit card. If the address is not yet updated on your card then your card issuer will decline it as the information will not be matching. 

I would recommend that you check to ensure your card issuer has updated your address and also request to speak to the online authorisation department there to get clarification on the online denials.

Paypal is absolutely useless. I want to change my home address because I amoved. I can't do it because a card is also connected to the old address. So when I edit a card address I am adding a new address and I click OK and nothing happenes. New address is still not available in the drop down menu.

Also the Paypal is absloutely unhelpful, worst expirience ever.

I am trying to change the address...but the data cant be changed...i can highlight it...but when I type nothing happens...and when I click the button it says to change the address then save...but it wont let me edit it.

Thanks for posting on the Community Forum and sorry to hear about the issue you're having with updating your details.

The first thing I would recommend trying is deleting cache and cookies from the browser you're using, and then trying to update your details again. If you have the same issue, you may want to try this using a different browser.
