I've tried several times to add a new email address, but the confirmation message with the verification link sent by paypal to my new email address never arrives. I've checked my spam and other folders and html settings (as advised), but no joy. I've also checked by primary email address.
I had the same problem when adding this address to my ebay account - and in the end, ebay had to add the address themselves, manually.
Any suggestions / advice would be much appreciated!!!
Many thanks

Hey Mark_J,
From the sounds of it the email domain that would be sending you the confirmation email may be on your Blocked List. I would advise you to check the Blocked List on your email settings and if you see a PayPal address remove it from the list and request the confirmation email again.
If this still doesn’t work then you can contact us directly using the ‘Contact Us’ link and request we authorise it.

I'm having the same problem.
It's a valid email address. I get mail from everyone else.
I don't have any blocked domains.
I have tried with 3 different browsers. And I've tried to verify the email about 20 times over the last 2 or 3 weeks.
It isn't working.

I have been having the same problem too but with two different domains hosted on the same server and everytime I try it just wont send out the confirmation emails.
I have emailed but not got a reply yet (Day 2). Anyone got a solution yet?

I've only just noticed I'm on the UK Community board (I'm in the U.S.). I came here via Google search (didn't even realize PayPal had a forum until I had a problem). The issue is still the same, however.
My email verification still doesn't work. Tried again.
The email is definitely valid. I used the same email address for this forum and it emailed me when the previous poster posted.
I realize I could use an alternate way to confirm, but it's a hassle and it doesn't solve the original problem. If everyone uses alternates, PayPal will still be broken and many people who don't bother posting will be failing to confirm or fussing around trying to figure out alternates..
I need to get verified so I can accept payments. Accepting payments puts money in PayPal's coffers. We all make more money if this gets fixed and we don't have to mess around with alternate methods.

Hi guys,
I'm sorry to hear that you both are still having issues when trying to complete the verification process of your email addresses. If you still don't receive the confirmation email, you may need to change your email format. We automatically send HTML emails. You can receive plain text emails by updating your Profile.
Here's how to change email formats:
- Go to www.paypal.co.uk and log in to your account.
- Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
- Click 'My account settings.'
- Click 'Update' in the 'Communication preferences' section.
- Select 'Plain Text' under 'Notification Format for Emails,' then click 'Save.'
Have you also tried checking your junk/spam folders? Would it be possible also to try contacting your email service provider in order to see if they can look in to it also.
Could you let me know how this goes? If you are still having issues, I can try to escalate it internally to see what more information I can get for you.
David.

I too have the same problem. I moved providers and I don't have access to my old Email address anymore. I have a valid hotmail address and don't have any problems receiving any Emails from anywhere except paypal. I've checked the junk and blocked senders etc., even tried other Email addresses. Nothing appears, so it must be a problem at the Paypal end. I can't get rid of my 'primary' address until I've verified my new address.

There's nothing wrong with my email address.
I receive HTML-formatted emails from this forum subscription.
I receive HTML-formatted and regularly formatted emails from everyone else.
The problem is with the PayPal verification process.
