Getting verified to lift sending limit.

Paypal have blocked me from making anymore payments due to reaching my sending limit. I keep getting the same message "Get verified and lift sending limits"

"Get verified and lift sending limits" What a load of rubbish - I HAVE ALREADY VERIFIED BOTH MY ADDRESS AND CREDIT CARD DETAILS AS REQUESTED!!!

When I follow the steps to lift sending limit all it keeps asking is "Set up bank funding" by adding bank account.

BUT I do not want to add bank funding because I only need to fund from credit card.

Several people I know have had money mysteriously disappear from their paypal accounts recently, quickly refunded by paypal, but each time there was NO explanation as to how this money was taken. In each case the passwords were not compromised and only known to account holder,so you can understand my reluctance to allow paypal loose with my bank account details...

Lets be honest, the only reason paypal are bullying users into adding bank funding is because it makes paypal more profit on bank funded transactions as there is no credit card processing fees with bank funded transactions.

I use my paypal account purely to pay for ebay purchases. I never receive any payments into this paypal account. All my purchases are funded from a verified credit card plus I have verified my address and email account.

SO WHY should I and other paypal users be forced to give paypal our bank account details and setup direct debit facilities that we have no intention of ever using?? Paypal are implying this is a legal requirement but I am pretty sure there is no such law which requires paypal to blackmail users into handing over bank account details - especially when NO money is being received into a paypal account.

The information given by paypal to lift account sending limits is contradictory,in some places it tells you to simply confirm credit card and address details...but try to lift sending limit in your account and the ONLY way to do it is by handing over bank account details.

Can someone from paypal explain this please? I cannot pay for anything I buy on ebay and am getting fed up with asking friends to keep doing it for me.

Hi mrangry2012,

As this is a community forum it is designed for other members to respond to members post. If you have a specific query on your PayPal account I would recommend that you contact us directly via the contact us link at the bottom of every PayPal page.

In relation to your post about verifying your PayPal account. PayPal request that a bank account must be added and verified on your PayPal account to lift your sending limits and verify your account details.

We ask all customers to verify their accounts to help make PayPal safer for everyone.

Here are the benefits of a verified account:

  • We lift your account's limits' to send and withdraw money.
  • You have more payment options.
  • Buyers and sellers have greater confidence to do business with you because your verified status provides stronger account security.

If you have any further questions please contact us directly or repost and I will see if I can help.

I'm having the same problem but the issue for me is that I'm using a purchase card from my work. I do not have a bank account to link to, aside from my personal account. So linking a bank account is NOT an option for me. I reached out to PayPal days ago and have yet to hear anything. Meanwhile, my payee is waiting. Unless this ridiculous limit is lifted I will no longer be using vendors that use PayPal. Please advise!

I just called and spoke to a representative. No solution and no options other than linking an account. The result? I'm canceling my account and not using PayPal ever again. Good luck with this f#kced up business model. I'll be leveraging my social media presence to share this disdain.

Hi,

How can you/paypal lift my limit? I'm from Bularia but I'm married and live and work in Macedonia, but I have my Bulgarian citizenship etc... I have an active bank account in Bulgaria and i credit/debit card which I use for my paypal account and I also sent you all my documents that I have as my ID card, my citizenship, statemen from my bank account, my passport etc... but  for a final setup your representative asked me to send him an utility bill which I don't have since I do not live officialy in Bulgaria any more. Can someone help me?

Hi krandov,

If you are living in Macedonia you won't be able to use PayPal as this is not a country currently supported by PayPal. I understand that you are from Bulgaria and that is a country we do support but opening an account is based on the country you are living in rather than the country you are from.

Rachael.
