I have personal account but can't upgrade to Premier. I am Verified.

I have a personal account that's been verified. I click onto the the upgrade option and the only available upgrade offered is a business account,. It says absolutely nothing about upgrading to a premier account and I definitely have a personal account as it says so next to my name? How do I upgrade? This is very annoying.

Hi Kirsty89,

There is a technical issue when some customers are trying to upgrade their PayPal account but as far as I am aware, this is only when upgrading to a business account.

You should check to see what account you have. This can be done by clicking the Account Overview option on your PayPal account. From here, you will then see either Premier or Personal and either Verified/Unverified.

If you have a personal account and you are unable to upgrade to a premier account. This may be due to the technical issue that is currently on going. I will advise that our technical team are actively working to resolve the issue and we are hoping to have the issue resolved in the very near future.

I would like to upgrade to Premier but the only option showing is for a Business Account. 

Is it right I cannot accept credit card payments without being a Premier member?

Welcome to the PayPal Community!

If you would like to upgrade your account type to Premier please click the Contact Us link at the bottom of your PayPal account. From here you can send your request in an email.

I can also confirm that if you remain with a Personal account you will be able to receive credit card payments without being a Premier member.
