Hi
I just opened account and put in the details of the card that is linked to my current account, a Mastercard debit card. When I tried to make my first payment of £20 it is adding on £0.88 in fees as it is treating it as a credit card. I cannot see an option to select Mastercard debit card so paypal has treated it as a credit card. Anyone else encountered this?

Some debit cards paypals system does 'view' as credit cards BUT if you phone customer services they will sometimes reimburse you.
However if you are being charged it sounds as if you are sending a family / friends payment, just be careful you are not using that option to pay for goods from a seller. If you are you have NO buyer protection and also its against paypal rules.
If its to actual f/f then you are fine.

Kudos / Solution appreciated.
