auto convert dollars into british pounds

Hello gang,

    i recently adjusted all my buy it now auctions to require immediate payment due to non payers purchasing and not paying.

One BIN i have is for Piriton allergy tablets which are listed on ebay.com and is in dollars.

Before i made everything immediate payment i would just accept and convert into sterling as soon as buyer paid but with immediate payment i cant and it gets refused.

I am having trouble setting up my paypal to accept dollars or to be able to convert the $17.00 payment immediatly into sterling.

Obviously if the buyer cant pay then they will go elsewhere.

It is frustrating as the links seem to go everywhere except the right direction.

Any help much appreciated.

Hi there Neil-Taplin,

In order for you to be able to receive a payment in US Dollars, you would need to add this currency to your currency balances on your PayPal account.

Here's how to accept money in a new currency:

1. Go to www.paypal.co.ukand log in to your account.
2. Click 'Profile' near the top of the page.
3. Click 'My money.'
4. Click 'Currencies' beside 'PayPal balance.'
5. Select the currency you want to add.
6. Click 'Add Currency.'

Once you have done this, you would then be able to receive payments in US Dollars on your PayPal account.

If you have received payments in another currency, you can then transfer any balances to one primary GBP balance on your account so that you can withdraw the funds to your bank account.

Here’s how to convert your balance to another currency:

1. Go to www.paypal.co.ukand log in to your account.
2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
3. Click ‘My money.’
4. Click ‘Currencies’ beside PayPal balance.
5. Enter the amount you want to convert under ‘Currency Exchange.’
6. Select the currency to convert the funds from.
7. Select the currency to convert the funds to.
8. Click ‘Calculate’ to see the currency conversion.
9. Click ‘Start Exchange’ to transfer the funds.
10.   Click ‘Exchange Currency’ to confirm the transfer.
