Welcome to the PayPal Community. Nectar cards are not compatible on PayPal I'm afraid.

Moderator says Nectar cards not compatible, so why,when I purchase via ebay does it say we'll add X Nectar points if you have linked your Nectar card.  Assuming this is a response related to the UK site (Nectar being the UK's largest loyalty card)

Figured it out - you link it to Ebay account not PayPal.

To link your Nectar card to your eBay account, and therefore automatically earn points when you pay using PayPal on eBay, simply log into your eBay account, click on "My eBay" (top right), then look over at "Activity -> Summary -> Buy -> Nectar" (top left).
