I am absolutely disgusted that paypal se fit to hold your money whenever the mood takes them. I am a seller on Depop and sell items near enough everyday , sometimes of great value sometimes of £5 and I always withdraw immediately bno problems. Last night a lady made a big purchase and it went through fine I immediately withdrew as I needed the money today to pay towards a deposit for something and a courier to send the items to the buyer and it said 24 hours in an email but when I logged in said 3-5 working days. Pending review . I spoke to a customer service rep who said it will be in 24 hours so will be in tonight but that is not good enouh as nhave to pay my deposiy today by 5pm. Anyone else had this nonsense and why all of a suddden are they holding payments never had problems before. This one f UP alone will have me closing the account as soon as I get my money if it is not sorted `ASAP. I am FUMING

When a buyer pays it is not instantly paid to you.
Paypal CREDIT you the funds so the buyer gets their item quickly and then paypal take the wait for the funds to transfer to paypal........normally 5 days ish.
So if you withdraw those funds straight away then its paypals funds you are withdrawing and so they sometimes put on a "random security hold" until the buyers payment has time to play catch up.
Paypal could i suppose make you wait the 5 days + for the buyers payment to transfer through to them but they don't, they credit you but sometimes make you wait a little just to make sure the buyers payment starts to process ok.
I find if i only withdraw funds every 2-4 weeks then i don't get the delay.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
