Hello,
I'm having problems trying to set up a direct debit to fund my paypal account. Although the direct debit details have gone through (ie the paypal account and my bank account are linked), each time I try to go into Paypal to actually set up the direct debit (eg fund account with £30 each month starting 20th of each month) the page will not load. I click on the 'continue' button on the 'add funds to paypal account' and the page just continually refreshes without loading a direct debit mandate page. Any help you could offer would be most appreciated 🙂

Paypal always want a back up funding source attached to your paypal account as well.
So you add a card so that if you are overdrawn in the bank and the payment to the seller fails they have a back up card to take the payment from.
This is because paypal always CREDIT the seller as soon as you pay and then they take the wait for the funds to transfer from your funding source to reimburse themselves.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.

It does not work like that.
Once you have added and verified your bank account by entering the 4 digit code they send to your bank account then the direct debit is set up automatically.
However you can't decide to pay xxx amount per month. What happens is that paypal will only deduct payments from your bank account WHEN YOU PAY A SELLER.
So what you see on your online banking is the LAST seller you have paid and it will only change when you pay someone else.
eg on my direct debit mandate for paypal is £5.98 and that is dated 4 days ago as that is the last seller i have paid using instant bank transfer.
Advice is voluntary.
Kudos / Solution appreciated.
