Does money sent to me go straight to my bank account?

Hi all,

Back in Marxh 2011, I got refunded for a book that never arrived. As I was a massive fan of the guy I never checked if it went into my account. The other day I was cleaning out my emails stored (don't ask!) and I found the email saying he had sent it.

My question is, does money refunded to you via Paypal go straight automatically into your bank account? I have looked at the history on my account and it shows as being completed. Does this mean completed as in that it has been put back into my PAYPAL account or completed in the sense that it is returned to my BANK account?

I can't ever get anyone to just reply normally when I try emailing, they always send the same bulk information which is bad customer service in my opinion. Does the money go straight back to the bank after Paypal has processed it back from him or do I need to tell it to do this?

Also, a side question, I am assuming that if I buy something from paypal after this money is refunded, Paypal would use any money in the account (i.e. this refund,) then go to my bank to get the monies still owing after using that refunded money (if that makes sense?)

Thanks for any help

Hi there,

If a bank account was used then the refund would go back to your PayPal balance and remain there until it was withdrawn or used to fund other purchases.

You are correct, if there are funs in your PayPal account we will use this first and then only go to your bank should we need to.
