I hate PayPal so much. What is with this fake "security" stuff?

So Paypal is unlawfully holding my cash ransom for 72 hours, presumably to squeeze 3 extra days of interest out of it. Doesn't this make Paypal money launderers which is a crime?

I've got a whole bunch of old stuff I'm selling as I'm strapped for cash this week and sold my old speakers but I can't send them to the guy yet as Paypal has kidnapped the money and holding it hostage which means I can't post the speakers as I don't have the damned postage and also my weekend plans are ruined

Why are Paypal so evil?

When you pay a seller or company then Paypal will CREDIT them in advance for you and Paypal will take the wait for the funds to transfer from your funding source.

So sometimes if you withdraw those funds instantly,  paypal put a hold on them to allow the buyers payment transfer to play catch up.
