PayPal and bank holidays.....

So here's thing I receive money usually every Friday. I forgot that today being Xmas and a bank holiday the standing order won't complete till the next working day which I believe is now next Wednesday. (For some reason banks computers take the day off aswell... Standing orders etc I fell should really just go through regardless of bank holidays). Now I made a payment using PayPal just now before I realised all this. I won't have enough money in my account till the standing order completes. I presume PayPal cannot withdraw the money from my account till the next working day either?

Welcome to the community forum and thanks for posting.

When you make a payment using your PayPal account we are also dependent on your banks processing times. We will request the money when you send the payment but it normally takes a few days for it to come out of your bank account. If you make a payment with a card we check immediately if the money is available so if it wasn't your bank would most likely decline that payment.

If you paid directly with a bank account the money is taken from your bank by direct debit. What that would mean is that your bank will process that payment during a working day also.
