I will be moving to Madrid soon, and will be setting up a bank account in Spain. I was wondering, if I transfer money to paypal from my UK bank account, and then deposit it from paypal to my Spanish bank account, will I be charged any fee? Also, what kind of GBP>EUR rate can I expect to receive?

Yes you will be charged a currency conversion fee. I would recommend creating a Spanish PayPal Account and adding the Spanish bank account, send the payment from your UK PayPal Account to your Spanish PayPal Account and then you can withdraw to your Spanish bank account.
