What is direct debit for??

Just a question, i have a direct debit set up on my account but im not sure why? As far as i was aware, this is for e-cheque only, which i dont even use, bank payments come dorectly out of the bank right, it doesnt use the direct debit feature? Shall i cancel it as i only use card payments for paypal...?????

If you are funding payments from your BANK ACCOUNT then you need the direct debit in place to pay your sellers.
UNLESS you have a card linked in which case you can click on "change" during the payment process and select a card on a transaction by transaction basis.
BUT if you are selling you will need to keep your bank account linked to withdraw funds AND if you remove your bank account / direct debit your account is no longer verified.
Don't forget the direct debit only shows the last seller that you paid and if you don't use it then it just sits there happily doing nothing.
