Hi,

I want to know the exchange rate that would be applied to my money withdrawal to my card. But hte currency of my card is in BGN (Bulgarian Lev) , which is not inclucded in Paypal's currency convertion calculator. How can I find out if my money will be converted using Paypal's conversion rate, or if it will use my cardholder's conversion rate (Visa) ? And if paypal has it's onw rate, what is it and how can I find that information out?

Thanks!

Hi Neda20,

Thank you for contacting the PayPal Community Forum and welcome as a new member!

PayPal's exchange rates are updated daily.

Here's how to view the current exchange rate:

  1. Go to www.paypal.com and log in to your account.
  2. Click PayPal balance.
  3. Click Manage currencies.
  4. Enter the required information and click Calculate.

When you withdraw money from your PayPal account to your local bank account, we automatically convert the money into the local currency at the time of the withdrawal request.

For more information on the exchange rate with international payments, click Legal at the bottom of any PayPal page, and then click User Agreement for PayPal Service.

Exchange rates apply when you convert money from one currency into another currency. The exchange rate would apply to the following types of transactions:

  • You send a payment in a currency that isn’t your default payment method’s currency.
  • You withdraw money in a different currency.
  • You transfer money from a balance in one currency to a balance in another currency.
  • You accept a payment in another currency and have it automatically converted to your preferred currency.

If you have a Business account or a Premier account, you can choose to have payments automatically converted into your preferred currency.

Here’s how it works:

  1. Go to www.paypal.com and log in to your account.
  2. Click ‘Profile’ near the top of the page.
  3. Click ‘My selling tools.'
  4. Click 'Update' beside 'Block Payments.'
  5. Select your preferences and click ‘Save.'
