Can't be done in the UK i'm afraid, if a card payment is refunded it will be credited back to the card but if you receive a seperate payment to your account you will have to withdraw it to a bank or use it to make a new payment.

What are the reasons that PayPal prohibits the withdraw of funds to a credit card? Is this likely to change?
I occasionally do the odd spot of self-employed work, not enough to justify a seperate business bank account (or change status with eBay) but it's enough that I don't want it confused with a my private/domestic expenditure. As I use a credit card as the main funding source for these ventures, it would be really useful to be able to withdraw funds arbitrarily to it also.

Hey there Kellys-Hero,
Its possible that it may change in the future but its not something that will change in the near future I’m afraid.
We do try and make PayPal as convenient as possible so the more feedback we get on what we can do to help our customers the better.

That would be very usefull. I would top up my credit card on the go. Instead I have to do bank account withdraw and then top up my credit card. We need that option.

Yes, I too would find the ability to withdraw to a credit card very useful indeed. The odd thing is, however, that when Paypal notify me of a payment made to my Paypal account, the email states:
Once the money's there you can:
Spend the money at thousands of shops that accept Paypal
Transfer it to your bank account (takes twoto three days)
Transfer the money to a credit card
What is the point of this message, then?

Hey guys,
The email you received is an automated one that every customer receives. I apologise for the misinformation it gives, but it is possible to withdraw to cards in some countries but not in the UK. This is due to regulations and the different services we can offer in different countries.
As Lucy said before, it may be an option in the future but as of now the only 2 options are US and UK bank accounts.

Which regulations are they then? Please be specific.
As far as I am aware there are no banking code restrictions and no legislative ones that preclude this.
In fact, in the UK at least, the direct payment instructions given on the back of a credit-card statement include the codes for direct payment/funds transfer; which I myself use all the time which from time to time has resulted in a surplus.
Neither the bank or the regulators have ever questioned or inhibited this so I'm left to wonder what the problem is.
